Following the success of the previous conferences, in two days 15 and 16^th October 2015, Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation – VINARE organized the 6^th Vietnam Reinsurance Conference in Nha Trang.

At the conference, there were nearly 90 representatives from Insurance Supervisory Authority – Ministry of Finance, Association of Vietnamese Insurers, leading reinsurers such as Swiss Re and Munich Re and leaders and (re)insurance experts of 29 non-life insurance companies currently operating in Vietnam insurance market.  

After the opening speech of Mr. Pham Cong Tu – VINARE CEO, Mr. Mai Xuan Dung – VIANRE Deputy CEO presented on the situation and evaluation of Vietnam (re)insurance market, with special focus on property, engineering, marine and liability business. He also highlighted VINARE’s solutions and recommendations to contribute to the sustainable and efficient development of the insurance market.

Mr. Phung Dac Loc – General Secretary of Association of Vietnamese Insurers also gave a speech at the conference, in which he analyzed the general situation of the market and highlighted opportunities and challenges for the Vietnam non-life insurance market in the coming time.

At this year’s conference, representatives of the leading international reinsurers have also brought to the conference practical presentations for the delegates. Mr. Pham Xuan Thai, representative from Swiss Re, presented at the conference overview and evaluation of global economy and its impact on the insurance market as well as (re)insurance market outlook in the coming renewal. Mr. Bui Quang Hai, Head of Client Management Department, Munich Re, presented on the global urbanization trend and pointed out the challenges and opportunities for insurance industry.

In addition, at the conference, Mr. Phan Thanh Ha, Head of Property – Engineering Department, Bao Viet, also shared experience in managing Property insurance and Mr. Anthony Cloney, General Manager of Technical and Distribution, QBE, also presented on Liability insurance market with many potential and challenges.

In his closing address, Mr. Pham Cong Tu highly appreciated all the presentations in the Conference; Mr. Tu said that the presentations had well reflected the non-life market situation in Vietnam, offering solutions and practical recommendations for the sustainable development of the market.

The conference has received high appreciation for its quality and contents as well as the organization and was a great success.
