Property insurance has been one of business lines with most stable growth in recent years. Regulations on compulsory fire and explosion insurance also create large potential for strong growth of this business in the near future. 

However, increasingly unhealthy competition, large, continuous and prolong losses have seriously affected sustainable development of the market.

In these conditions, on August 15, 2013, Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation (VINARE) has organized a seminar on “Property Insurance Profitability”.

Participants in this seminar are leading experts in property insurance from VINARE, insurance companies in the market, Swiss Re and staff from Insurance Supervisory Authority (Ministry of Finance) and Association of Vietnamese Insurers. Presentations and discussions in the seminar have focused on current issues in the market in recent years such as unhealthy competition, complicated, prolong losses, management of risk cat 3 and 4; complete and revise regulations on compulsory fire and explosion insurance, etc. Many inputs, practical solutions were given by participants and are expected to be implemented in the near future. The seminar has once again confirmed VINARE’s efforts for stable and sustainable development of the insurance market in general and property insurance market in specific.
