At the recent seminar on Resolution 68-NQ/TW: Opportunities for Listed Companies and Public Enterprises, jointly hosted by the State Securities Commission and Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), the Top 5 companies with the greatest improvement in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) 2024 were announced. For the first time, Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation (VINARE) proudly secured a position on this list, marking remarkable progress in enhancing governance quality in accordance with international standards. This achievement not only reflects improved scores but also underscores VINARE’s consistent commitment to establishing a modern, transparent, and sustainable governance framework.

The Top 5 recognize companies that have markedly enhanced their governance capabilities by adopting and applying best international practices. VINARE’s inclusion underscores its sustained commitment to modern, transparent, and sustainable governance.
VINARE has focused on strengthening transparency, accountability, board diversity, independent oversight, and embedding ESG principles into its development strategy. Participation in ACGS reaffirms its dedication to regional and global governance standards, driving continuous improvement and stakeholder trust.

Vietnam also selected five highest-scoring firms, including Ca Mau Fertilizer, FPT, HDBank, Vinamilk, and VPBank, to represent the country at the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2025 in Malaysia.
Since 2011, the ACGS – developed by the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum – has been a key tool for assessing governance quality and supporting sustainable capital market policies across six ASEAN countries. The 2024 results show Vietnamese firms’ average score rising sharply from 36.8 to 60.2 out of 130, marking the strongest improvement to date. Yet, a gap remains compared to the regional average of about 75, notably in “Board Responsibilities,” a vital governance pillar. VIOD highlighted that this is a critical moment for Vietnamese companies to transform and potentially lead the ASEAN market.
