Property is one of the business lines with most stable premium volume growth in the market over the years. However, along with premium volume growth, losses situation continues to get worse, negatively affecting underwriting business results. In this situation, Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation (VINARE) has organized the Property Claim Seminar at Movenpick Hotel in Hanoi on 28 August 2015. Nearly 60 guests have attended; discussed and contributed their inputs at the Seminar; among them were representatives from Insurance Supervisory Authority – Ministry of Finance, Association of Vietnamese Insurers, non-life insurance enterprises and loss adjusters currently operating in the Vietnam market.

The topic of this seminar focused on lessons learnt from losses in the market in recent years. Presentations at the seminar discussed on many current hot issues such as increasing trend in property losses, frequent errors in policy issuance, difficulties in claim handling, fraud in property insurance, etc. Presentations, discussions as well as proposals, recommendations at the Seminar were specific and practical, contributing to enhancement of policy issuance and claim handling.

The Property Claim Seminar has received positive feedbacks from the market, once again affirming VINARE’s efforts for sustainable and stable development of the insurance market in general and property insurance market in specific.
