On the morning of November 22,2023, the Annual Corporate Governance Forum with the theme “Igniting Green Finance and Green Governance,” organized by the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), took place in Hanoi. This marked the 6th edition of the forum with technical support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and sponsorship from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The special highlight of this year’s forum was the announcement of the Board of the Year Awards, where VINARE was honored in the Top 5 Board Diversity of 2023 and the Top 12 Board of Directors committed to corporate governance best practices.
VINARE Board of Directors consistently ensures effectiveness and balance in terms of gender, generation, skills diversity, as well as maintaining independence. These characteristics demonstrate the excellence of the Board’s structure and significant contributions to the current success of the company. This award serves as clear evidence of the efforts put forth by VINARE’s Board of Directors, aiding them in continuing their exemplary corporate governance practices.

In addition to honouring Board Diversity and Board of Directors committed to corporate governance best practices, VIOD, for the first time, also acknowledges and honors Board of Directors that achieve outstanding achievements in accordance with strict evaluation criteria, surpassing more than 500 Boards of Directors of other listed companies in the Vietnamese market. This criteria system evaluates the performance of the Board of Directors based on three groups of criteria: Effectiveness of the Board’s operations; Standards for sustainable development and value for stakeholders; Overall quality of corporate governance.
With the theme “Igniting Green Finance and Green Governance”, the 6th Annual Forum (AF6) in 2023 serves as a space and opportunity for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and management executives to come together. It will focus on the intricacies of finance and capital markets, providing insights into the practical aspects of incorporating E&S principles into business strategies.
